Dental Implants Treatment Timeline for Several Missing Teeth
When there are several missing teeth, dental implants treatment will be in two separate trips to Thailand. Regardless on the number of implants placed, the first trip simply requires 5 to 7 days and focuses on the surgical placement of the implant post with a healing cap. If however a temporary partial dentures over the implant post is opted for wear during healing period for esthetic reason, additional days stay will be requested for the dental lab to construct the denture. Tooth impression to make the temporary partial dentures may be done prior to implant surgery visit or done on the same day or day after implant surgery visit. Your dentist will recommend and advise sequence of visits based on implant position, partial dentures design and individual specifications.
Following a healing period of at least 2 to 6 months, a second trip of 7 to 10 days is required. During this final phase, your prosthodontist custom designs, builds and fit your permanent bridge(s) or implant crown over the dental implant posts to allow you to bite and chew naturally.

| Phase | Purpose | Duration in Thailand |

For multiple missing teeth, one day implants is not usually done. However ‘one day implants” for full jaw with no teeth is possible, it is also known as All-on-4 (ProArch) whereby a fixed dentures is fitted over implant posts during the same trip.
FAQs on Dental Implants Bridge
In general, 2 dental implants can support a bridge of 3 or 4 teeth. For anterior teeth, longer span bridge of 4 teeth is possible. Whilst for posterior or back teeth, 2 implants with 3 teeth is recommended. This is because posterior teeth are used for grinding and uses heavier bite load.
An implant bridge is more cost-effective and may be recommended if there is limited bone density in certain areas whereby the bridge sits over weaker sections of the jaw.
While you board a plane and fly after a dental implant procedure, it is not recommended to do so immediately on the same day. For a standard case with no complications, a waiting period of about at least 2 days is recommended. At Smile Signature, a re-check visit normally scheduled around 5 to 7 days after your implant post surgery visit for your dentist to check that your implant site is healing properly. Changes in altitude on the plane can cause pressure-related pain or swelling.
What is the Costs of Dental Implants Bridge?
The costs of the dental implant bridge will be based on :
- The number of implant posts embedded into the jaw bone
- The number of crowns units within the dental bridge. A crown or artificial tooth in a dental bridge that floats between crown anchors to fills the space where a tooth is missing is called a pontic crown.
At Smile Signature, you calculate the calculate the total cost of your dental bridge by simply adding the number of dental implants with posts and the number of pontic crowns in the bridge.
The cost per implant is dependent on the implant brand and range you opt for. Contact Smile Signature for a draft implant estimate, letting us know the number of missing teeth and if its an anterior or posterior area. You can send us a recent panoramic x-ray of less than 6 months and/or any photo of the missing teeth area.
